Jacob Misiorowski Callup: Brewers Prospect Expected To Start Thursday

The Brewers are calling up RHP Jacob Misiorowski, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, who reports that Misiorowski is expected to make his big league debut and start on Thursday. The 23-year-old righty ranks No. 21 in our Top 100 and has dominated Triple-A hitters on the strength of a high-powered arsenal that includes a fastball that has reached 103 mph this year and improved command this year. Misiorowski was 4-2 with a 2.13 ERA and 80 strikeouts to 31 walks over 63.1 innings with Triple-A Nashville. Strike-throwing has been an issue for him in the past, but Misiorowski has been around the zone far more frequently this year, allowing him to turn lineups over and remain in a starting role. Misiorowski also has two plus-plus breaking balls, so even if the strikes elude him, he could settle into a high-leverage role in Milwaukee’s bullpen. He’s the latest high-profile Top 100 callup over the last couple weeks, following Roman Anthony (Red Sox), Kyle Teel (White Sox), Jac Caglianone (Royals) and Cole Young (Mariners).
