George Lombard Jr. And Spencer Jones Hit Back-To-Back Home Runs
While the month of May wasn’t kind to the Yankees duo of George Lombard Jr. and Spencer Jones, June has been far kinder so far. An intercostal injury limited Jones to just five games in May. Lombard, meanwhile, struggled mightily in his first month in Double-A. But the pair hit back-to-back homers on Wednesday in the second leg of a doubleheader against Portland off of starter Jorge Juan. It was Lombard’s first Double-A home run and he finished 2-for-4. Jones blasted off for the 11th time and went 3-for-4 in the win.
