On Sunday, Athletics shortstop Edgar Montero was one of the stars of the Dominican Summer League’s annual all-star game. He finished the game with a pair of doubles—one pulled and one to the opposite field—before getting the rest of the day off. The league’ regular season resumed on Monday, and it was apparent Montero was still riding a hot streak. The 18-year-old opened the second half by crushing a pair of home runs in his team’s win over Cubs Red. Montero also singled and walked. He has nine home runs on the year.
