On the same day he was crowned Midwest League player of the month for August, High-A Great Lakes outfielder Kendall George joined an exclusive club by stealing his 100th base of the season on Thursday, Sept. 4. In a game at Lake County, the 20-year-old went 3-for-4 with a walk while stealing four bases and scoring a run. The Dodgers drafted George in the first round in 2023 out of high school in Texas. In 111 games this season he’s hitting .295/.409/.370 with three home runs and 101 steals. The Rays’ Chandler Simpson swiped 104 bases in the minor leagues last season, but no player had reached the century mark before that since the Reds’ Billy Hamilton stole minor league record 155 in 2012.
