It’s been a trying season for Marlins slugger Deyvison De Los Santos, but on Tuesday he offered a reminder of his potent raw power. De Los Santos roped a 118.5 mph double to left field for Triple-A Jacksonville against Rochester starter Andrew Alvarez. That’s the second-hardest hit ball of the year in Triple-A, trailing only a 119.6 mph exit velocity from Jays 1B Rainer Nunez, and would’ve been the third-hardest hit ball in the majors this season behind only Oneil Cruz (122.9 mph) and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (120.4). De Los Santos also added a 114.5 mph groundout later in the game for good measure.

The 22-year-old hit 40 homers in the minors in 2024, but has struggled to replicate that power this year and also lost some time due to a quad strain. De Los Santos, who is on the Marlins’ 40-man roster, hit .249/.323/.382 with 12 homers through 90 Triple-A games this season.
