Yankees righthander Chase Hampton dealt with injuries for nearly all of the 2024 season. Now, those same problems have popped back up in 2025. Bryan Hoch reported on Feb. 19 that Hampton was dealing with a strained right flexor and, per manager Aaron Boone, “something going on in the UCL.”

Hampton was the Yankees’ sixth-round pick in 2022 and broke out during his debut season in 2023. Issues with his arm and hamstring limited him to just 18.2 innings in 2024, and 13 of those innings came in rehab appearances between Rookie ball and Low-A.

At his best, Hampton showed a potentially plus fastball and two breaking balls with above-average futures. He needed a rebound season in 2025. Now, the wait might be even longer.
