Andrew Painter Set To Return With Low-A Clearwater
Top Phillies prospect Andrew Painter will start Friday for Low-A Clearwater, marking his first appearance in an affiliated game since Sept. 16, 2022 following a right elbow injury and subsequent recovery from Tommy John surgery. Painter, who was quite impressive in his return this past fall in the Arizona Fall League, is expected to pitch once a week as Philadelphia builds him up with an eye on impacting the big league pitching stuff at some point midway through the season. He ranks No. 8 on Baseball America’s Top 100 Prospects.
