AJ Smith-Shawver Spins Another Solid Start
AJ Smith-Shawver’s bid for a spot in the Braves rotation continues to roll along, as he allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four in four innings of work on Sunday. Smith-Shawver has posted a 3.38 ERA in three starts so far. He hasn’t been dominant, but he has struck out 10 and walked three in eight innings, while not allowing any home runs. Smith-Shawver is battling Grant Holmes and Ian Anderson for two spots in the Braves’ rotation, which will diminish to one spot once Spencer Strider returns.
