Nick Kurtz’s 1/1 Rookie Debut Patch Surfaces In Topps Chrome Update

The hunt for Paul Skenes’ Rookie Debut Patch in last year’s Topps Chrome Update went on for a month and a half after the product’s release.
This year’s hunt for the Nick Kurtz patch lasted less than 36 hours.
The Kurtz patch—arguably the biggest Debut Patch in this year’s release—was pulled Thursday on Whatnot by breaker Throne Sports Cards, just one day after Chrome Update hit shelves.
“The dude that hit that—you guys have no idea how hard that guy has been chasing the A’s,” a host said Thursday evening on Throne’s Fanatics Live channel. The collector remains anonymous.
The card was pulled from a jumbo box, and it was in redemption form, meaning the actual card will need to be delivered from Topps.
It remains to be seen what the next step might be for the Kurtz patch. Last year’s Skenes patch was famously pulled from a hobby box on Christmas morning, then later auctioned off for $1.1 million.
Kurtz joins Kristian Campbell and Chandler Simpson as the other big-name patches that have been confirmed as pulled so far in this year’s Chrome Update.
Among the patches still yet to be found (or at least acknowledged publicly) are Roki Sasaki, Dylan Crews, James Wood and Jacob Wilson.
