MiLB Opening Day 2025: Minor League Schedules, Start Times & More

After a long string of baseball Opening Days, one of the most exciting is finally here—the start of the 2025 minor league full-season schedule (Double-A and below edition).

When Is MiLB Opening Day?

Today, of course! However, this was a bit a trick question. That’s because, as with MLB, there are multiple Opening Days for the minor leagues. To make in-season callups easier to manage for big league clubs, the Triple-A season is designed to follow along with the MLB schedule. So, the Triple-A season began last week, while Double-A and the other lower-level leagues don’t get started until today.

Triple-A Opening Day

Regular season start date: Friday, March 28
Regular season end date: Sunday, September 21

The Triple-A slate officially got underway with a 2:05 p.m. ET first pitch for the Buffalo Bisons’ home opener against the Rochester Red Wings at Sahlen Field in Buffalo, NY on Friday, March 28 (Buffalo won, 6-2).

Double-A, High-A and Low-A Opening Day

Double-A regular season start date: Friday, April 4
Double-A regular season end date: Sunday, September 14

The rest of the full-season minor leagues will kick things off today. First-pitch honors will belong to the Altoona Curve and the newly-christened Chesapeake Baysox at 6 p.m. ET.

High-A & Low-A regular season start date: Friday, April 4
High-A & Low-A regular season end date: Sunday, September 7

Complex Leagues Opening Day

ACL & FCL regular season start date: Monday, May 5
ACL & FCL regular season end date: Thursday, July 24

Last year, the traditional Arizona and Florida Complex League schedules were done away with and replaced with a brand new setup. Instead of playing June through to August, the ACL and FCL regular seasons now begin in May and run into late July. This helps mitigate roster issues for pitchers and better navigate the extreme Arizona summer heat.

The Dominican Summer League’s official start date for 2025 has yet to be announced, but the DSL typically begins in early June (last year it was June 3) and runs into late August.
