Final 2017 Top 25 College Baseball Rankings

After winning the first national championship in program history, Florida tops 2017’s final Baseball America Top 25, powered by Louisville Slugger.

Florida defeated Louisiana State in the College World Series finals, clinching the championship with a 6-1 victory. The Gators went 10-3 in the NCAA Tournament, winning the Gainesville Regional and Super Regional, before going 5-1 in Omaha.

Florida finishes the year ranked No. 1, marking its first time atop the Top 25 this season. LSU, the national runner-up, finishes at No. 2, also its best ranking of the season. Oregon State—which spent 10 weeks at No. 1—finishes the season ranked third, while Texas Christian and Louisville round out the top five.

Four teams move into the rankings following the NCAA Tournament. Texas A&M leads the newcomers at No. 10 after reaching the CWS. Missouri State, Vanderbilt and Sam Houston State also join the Top 25 after reaching super regionals. Texas A&M and Vanderbilt were both ranked previously this season, while Missouri State returns for the first time since finishing the 2015 season at No. 12. Sam Houston State earns its first ranking since May 19, 2014, when it was No. 25.

Arizona, Central Florida, Florida Gulf Coast and Nebraska drop out of the rankings.

The Southeastern Conference leads all conference with eight teams in the Top 25. The Atlantic Coast Conference follows with six representatives.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records are through June 27 and do not include ties.
