Diamond Baseball Holdings To Add 43rd MiLB Team With Purchase Of High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

Diamond Baseball Holdings, the largest owner of MiLB clubs in the history of the minors, has added another team to its portfolio.
DBH announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement to purchase the High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers from Third Base Ventures, an ownership group led by Craig Dickman, Rob Zerjav and Brad Raaths.
Pending final approvals, the purchase will be DBH’s 43rd MiLB team and its 11th High-A club. Diamond Baseball Holdings also owns 13 Triple-A clubs, 12 Double-A clubs and seven Low-A clubs. It owns teams in every full-season league with the exception of the Florida State League.
“It has always been our goal to ensure baseball remains a part of the fabric of Northeastern Wisconsin and we are excited to be joining DBH, who shares our passion for baseball and community,” said Zerjav, Baseball America’s 2023 MiLB Executive of the Year. “Their commitment to preserving what makes the Timber Rattlers special, while helping us grow into the future, made this the right move for the organization and the Fox Cities.”
DBH is also buying Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium, where the team plays, as part of the purchase. Terms were not disclosed.
As with all of these purchases, the sale does nothing to change the Timber Rattlers’ affiliation with the Brewers, which is part of the Professional Development License (PDL) that stretches through the 2030 season.
