Baseball America Prospect Report -- September 18, 2018

Monday's Stars

Ryan O'Hearn, 1B, Royals. After a quite mediocre first three months of the season with Triple-A Omaha. O'Hearn has been one of the Royals best hitters since he was promoted on July 31. O'Hearn hit his 11th home run in just 36 games with Kansas City. It's a pretty remarkable stretch, but that's something O'Hearn has done regularly. O'Hearn hit only four home runs in three college seasons, but he hit 13 in his pro debut in just 64 games.

Victor Robles, OF, Nationals. Robles hit a long home run yesterday for his first major league home run. Robles' season has been ruined by injuries, but he's off to a slow start in his September callup. He's hitting .208/.286/.333 in 24 at-bats with the Nationals.

Daniel Vogelbach, PH, Mariners. Vogelbach homered for a second straight day, this time in truly dramatic fashion. Vogelbach hit a pinch-hit grand slam that provided all the runs the Mariners needed and got in a 4-1 win over the Astros. Vogelbach had an excellent season with Triple-A Tacoma (.290/.434/.545), but he remains limited by his struggles to play first base defensively.

Framber Valdez, LHP, Astros. Valdez dipped, dodged and weaved around control trouble last night. The 24-year-old walked five in five innings but didn't allow any runs as he allowed only two hits. Valdez has walked 19 in 28.2 innings with the Astros, but he has a 2.20 ERA with only 18 hits allowed in 28.2 innings.
