Baseball America Prospect Report (Sept. 30)

THE LINEUP

Newsmakers from Friday's action:

Ozzie Albies, 2B, Braves. Albies has done an excellent job of immediately taking hold of the Braves' second base job since being promoted to the big leagues on Aug. 1. Albies hit his sixth home run and swiped his eighth bag on Friday. He's now hitting .290/.361/.464.

Jorge Alfaro, C, Phillies. Yes, they have had a disastrous season, but it is notable that the Phillies have largely turned over their lineup this season. Alfaro is one of the reason's the youth movement looks promising. He hit his fifth home run in just 105 at-bats yesterday and is now hitting .315/.357/.505.

Chris Stratton, RHP, Giants. Finding bright spots in the Giants' 2017 season is near impossible, but Stratton's emergence does qualify as some of the best of the long string of bad news in San Francisco. Stratton threw 6.2 scoreless innings on Friday in his last outing of the season, lowering his ERA to 3.68.

Does One-Knee Catching Actually Lead To More Wild Pitches?

Conventional wisdom is that MLB catchers are more susceptible to passed balls and stolen bases on one knee. But is that really true?
