Luisangel Acuña and Evan Carter, Low-A Down East — Two of the youngest players in the Low-A East (Carter is the youngest and Acuña is the fourth-youngest) bat 1-2 at the top of Down East's lineup. The pair combined for three hits—including a double for Carter and a triple for Acuña—and two walks in the Wood Ducks' win.

Miguel Amaya, C, Double-A Tennessee —The Cubs' top catching prospect (although he was DHing on Thursday) collected three hits in four trips in the Smokies' win over Montgomery. He drove in a pair of runs as well.

Micah Bello, OF, Brewers — Milwaukee's supplemental second-rounder from 2018 continued his hot start to the season by going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

Vidal Brujan, OF, Triple-A Durham —Brujan's hot start continued on Thursday night, when he swatted his second home run of the year as part of a 2-for-4 effort. The 23-year-old is now 6-for-12 to begin the season.

Cade Cavalli, RHP, High-A Wilmington — One of the Blue Rocks' two fireballing first-rounders, Cavalli opened his pro career by whiffing seven over five shutout innings against Aberdeen, allowing just two hits.

Blaine Crim, 1B, High-A Hickory — In his pro debut in 2019, Crim mashed. In 2021, Crim is mashing again. The Mississippi College product went deep twice against Greensboro for his second and third home runs of the year. He now has 11 longballs in 233 career at-bats, including three in his first 12 of this season.

Pete Crow-Armstrong, OF, Low-A St. Lucie — The Mets' first-rounder in 2020 continued his strong start to the season with a 2-for-5 effort in St. Lucie's drubbing of Jupiter.

Jake Eder, LHP, Double-A Pensacola — After impressing evaluators on the backfields, Eder opened his pro career with a gem. The 2020 fourth-rounder out of Vanderbilt whiffed a dozen over five one-hit innings with three walks mixed in along the way.

Anderson Espinoza, RHP, High-A Fort Wayne — Normally, two shutout innings with three strikeouts is not enough to make BAPR. When it's your first outing in more than four years, however, we'll make an exception. Espinoza's last outing came on Aug. 31, 2016 (also as a member of Fort Wayne), meaning injuries kept him off the mound in an official setting for an entire presidential administration.

Josiah Gray, RHP, Triple-A Oklahoma City — The best pitching prospect in the Dodgers' system, Gray opened his season by whiffing 10 Round Rock hitters over five innings of two-run ball.

Vladimir Gutierrez, RHP, Triple-A Louisville — Gutierrez, who ranks as the Reds' No. 13 prospect after the graduation of Tejay Antone, started his season with six one-hit innings against Columbus. He struck out six and walked a pair.

Emerson Hancock, RHP, High-A Everett — The Georgia product, whom the Mariners selected in the first round in 2020, made his first start of the year. He went two scoreless with three strikeouts in the Aquasox's beatdown of Hillsboro.

Robert Hassell III, OF, Low-A Lake Elsinore — The eighth overall pick in the 2020 draft had quite an evening, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBIs, a walk, two stole bases and his first career home run.

Gunnar Henderson, SS/3B, Low-A Delmarva — After impressing system-mate Grayson Rodriguez with his opposite-field juice on Wednesday, Henderson repeated the feat on Thursday. The Orioles' second-round pick from 2019 socked the first pitch he saw over the wall in left field in Delmarva. He went 2-for-4 with a stolen base.

Bryce Jarvis, RHP, High-A Hillsboro — Arizona's first-round pick from 2020 out of Duke (where he threw a perfect game in his draft year) opened his pro career with four shutout innings with four strikeouts and three walks.

Jarred Kelenic, OF, Triple-A Tacoma — Kelenic, the Mariners' No. 2 prospect and one of the best overall prospects in the game, hit his first home run of the season on Monday night. A few innings later, he hit a second home run.

Trevor Larnach, OF, Triple-A St. Paul — The powerful outfielder slammed his first home run of the season, and it was a blast. The team account tweeted that Larnach's homer left the bat at 115 mph and traveled 453 feet. To put that into perspective, just 23 big leaguers have hit a ball 115 mph or harder this season.

Matthew Liberatore, LHP, Triple-A Memphis — The big prize in the Randy Arozarena trade made his 2021 debut, which came against his former organization. The lefthander whiffed five over six two-run innings, including the rare swinging strikeout of Wander Franco, a noted contact machine and the No. 1 prospect in the game.

Nick Lodolo, LHP, Double-A Chattanooga — A night after Hunter Greene unleashed the flamethrower, Lodolo brought out the Ginsu. The lefthander whiffed 10 Trash Pandas over five innings while allowing a pair of singles and no walks. Combined with his pro debut in 2019, Lodolo now has 40 strikeouts to his name and the next walk he allows will be the first.

Alek Manoah, RHP, Triple-A Buffalo — After dazzling in big league spring training, the righthander picked up where he left off to begin the regular season. The Blue Jays' first-rounder from 2019 whiffed a dozen and walked nobody over six scoreless innings against Worcester.

Orelvis Martinez, SS, Low-A Dunedin — The talented Toronto farmhand cranked his first home run of the season in the D-Jays' loss to Tampa.

Heliot Ramos, OF, Double-A Richmond — After a scorching spring training, Ramos has come out of the gates hot in Double-A. Ramos collected three hits in four trips on Thursday, including his second home run of the year. He drove in four and walked once.

Brayan Rocchio and Jose Tena, High-A Lake County — The Indians have a collection of super young, super talented middle infielders prowling their system. In fact, five of the 10 youngest players in the High-A Central can be found on the Captains' roster. Tena and Rocchio—Nos. 3 and 6 on the list, respectively—combined for five hits on Thursday, including a pair of doubles.

Adley Rutschman, C, Double-A Bowie — The No. 2 prospect in baseball went boom on Thursday night, connecting for his first home run of the season in his team's win over Altoona. He also added a double and a walk as part of his evening.

Lolo Sanchez, OF, High-A Greensboro — Sanchez might get lost in the treasure trove of prospects in Pittsburgh's system, but he's one to watch this year. The 22-year-old connected on a walk-off home run on Thursday night against Hickory.

Luis Santana, 2B, High-A Asheville — The former Mets farmhand (he was dealt to Houston as part of the J.D. Davis deal) swatted two home runs in his first game against his former teammates.

Connor Scott, OF, High-A Beloit — The Marlins' first-rounder from 2018 collected three hits—including a triple—scored twice and drove in a run against Wisconsin on Thursday. He's started the season 6-for-14.

Chase Strumpf, 2B, High-A South Bend — One of the purest hitters in the Cubs' system, Strumpf collected three hits on Thursday night to raise his season average to a cool .500.

Bubba Thompson, OF, Double-A Frisco — Have yourself a night, Bubba. The tooled-up Texas prospect crushed two home runs as part of a 3-for-4 effort with five RBIs. As RoughRiders broadcaster Zach Bigley noted, the last time Thompson homered (Aug. 27, 2019) was also part of a two-homer night.

Mark Vientos, 3B, Double-A Binghamton — One of the youngest players in the Double-A Northeast League, Vientos slammed his first homer of the year on Thursday night against Akron. The longball was part of a two-hit night.

Anthony Volpe, SS, Low-A Tampa — After opening eyes in minor league spring training, Volpe has started 2021 on fire. He went 3-for-5 with a double on Thursday and is now 6 for his first 13 to open the year.

Simeon Woods Richardson, RHP, Double-A New Hampshire — While Alek Manoah was carving for Buffalo (in Trenton), Woods Richardson was having a strong night for the Fisher Cats. The young righthander whiffed eight over four innings while allowing just one earned run.
