Jose Barrero, Double-A Chattanooga (Reds)—The 23-year-old shortstop is on fire in the month of June and added two more hits and a stolen base to his ledger against Tennessee. Barrero is hitting 17-for-45 (.378) with a home run, eight RBIs and 10 runs scored in 11 June games.

Jeter Downs and Jarren Duran, Triple-A Worcester (Red Sox)—Downs has struggled in the month of June, but turned in his second consecutive multi-hit game in a win over Lehigh Valley. The 22-year-old shortstop singled twice, scored twice, walked two times and drove in one. Duran, meanwhile, tallied his third straight two-hit game with a double and a single.

Yhoswar Garcia and Johan Rojas, Low-A Clearwater (Phillies)—The toolsy outfielders combined for four hits in 10 at-bats, three RBIs, three runs scored and four stolen bases in a win over Dunedin. Garcia, who impressed team evaluators with his performance in extended spring training, is 5-for-21 with seven stolen bases in five games since joining Clearwater. Rojas struggled in the first month of the season, but since the calendar turned to June he's been a different player. The 20-year-old outfielder, who is riding an 11-game hit streak, is hitting .316/.403/.561 with three home runs, 12 RBIs and 16 runs scored this month.

Andres Gimenez, Triple-A Columbus (Indians)—Gimenez collected his third two-hit game of June, hitting a solo home run and doubling in a win over Toledo. The 22-year-old shortstop has struggled between the majors and Triple-A this season, hitting .236/.292/.393 with three home runs and eight RBIs for Columbus.

J.T. Ginn, Low-A St. Lucie (Mets)—The 2020 second-rounder impressed in his third start, striking out five over four innings of one-hit ball. Ginn, who had Tommy John surgery in 2020, has struck out eight and walked three in 11 innings of one-run ball.

Jay Groome, High-A Greenville (Red Sox)—Groome impressed against advanced hitters last summer at the alternate training site, yet he hasn't gotten off to a successful start this season in his first experience of full-season ball since 2017. On Tuesday he took a step in the right direction, striking out seven over 4.1 innings of scoreless ball, allowing three hits and walking four. It was Groome's first scoreless start this season, and it brought his ERA down to 5.83 to go with 41 strikeouts and 16 walks in 29.1 innings.

Chris McMahon, High-A Spokane (Rockies)—The 2020 second-rounder from Miami turned in an encouraging start, striking out seven and walking one in six innings of two-run ball while giving up six hits. The 22-year-old righthander has been hit hard this year, giving up 46 hits in 40 innings with a 5.18 ERA, but he does have 38 strikeouts compared to just 11 walks.

Julio Rodriguez, High-A Everett (Mariners)—The No. 3 prospect in baseball could soon find himself in Double-A after an impressive start to the season. Rodriguez on Tuesday collected two hits in five at-bats, including a triple, scored three times and drove in two. He's hitting .330/.419/.598 with six home runs and 21 RBIs.

Drew Romo and Zac Veen, Low-A Fresno (Rockies)—The two 2020 draftees combined for four hits in nine at-bats, four runs scored and three RBIs in a win over Stockton. Romo, who doubled, singled and drove in two, is hitting .286/.314/.439 with two home runs and 16 RBIs. Veen doubled, singled, drove in one and scored twice, bringing his slash line to .234/.380/.339 with 27 walks and 20 stolen bases.

Keibert Ruiz, Triple-A Oklahoma City (Dodgers)—Ruiz entered the game as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the seventh and crushed a two-run home run to right field to help the Dodgers defeat El Paso. The 22-year-old catcher is hitting .293/.348/.695 with eight homers and 19 RBIs in 21 games.

Austin Wells, Low-A Tampa (Yankees)—Wells is off to an impressive start in his pro career, and he extended his hit streak to five games with a 3-for-4 effort, two runs and an RBI in a win over Bradenton. The 21-year-old catcher is hitting .285/.404/.477 with four homers and 34 RBIs, including 14 hits in 41 at-bats (.341) in June.

Hector Yan, High-A Tri-City (Angels)—Yan turned in his best start of the season, striking out a season-high 10 batters and allowing no runs in six innings of work. The 22-year-old lefthander allowed two hits and walked two. Yan is 0-3, 5.93 with 39 strikeouts and 20 walks in 30.1 innings.

Puerto Rico Beats Dominican Republic To Advance, But Loses Edwin Diaz To Injury

Puerto Rico beat the Dominican Republic, 5-2, to advance to the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals, but closer Edwin Diaz was injured in the postgame celebration.
