Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Rosters Announced

The rosters for the Arizona Fall League’s annual Fall Stars Game, which pits prospects from American League teams against prospects from National League teams, have been announced.

The game will take place on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Mesa’s Sloan Park, and will be broadcast live on MLB Network. If there is a Game 7 of the World Series, the Fall Stars Game will not be on MLB Network. Instead, it will stream live on MLB’s website. 

The rosters feature 10 members of BA’s Top 100 Prospects, including Jordan Walker, Noelvi Marte, Zac Veen, Jackson Merrill, Masyn Winn, Henry Davis and Jasson Dominguez.

Several players were selected to the game but are unable to participate due to injury or, in the case of pitchers, the timing of the game and the recency of their previous start.

That list includes: Jordan Lawlar, Johan Rojas, Austin Martin, Moises Castillo, Joey Wentz, Kumar Rocker, Mike Vasil, Bryan Woo, Quinn Priester, Blake Hunt, Hunter Stanley, J.T. Ginn, Mason Miller.

There is also a fan vote going on to determine one final addition to each roster. The NL candidates are Cal Conley(Braves), Justyn-Henry Malloy (Braves), Jose Ramos (Dodgers) and Luis Matos (Giants). The AL finalists are: Mason Auer (Rays), Zack Gelof (A’s), Robert Perez (Mariners) and Will Wagner (Astros).

Additionally, on Saturday the league will hold its first true home run derby, with four prospects from AL clubs battling against three prospects from NL clubs.

The NL reps are:  Deyvison De Los Santos (D-backs), Andy Pages (Dodgers), Jhailyn Ortiz (Phillies) and Matt Mervis (Cubs).

Their rivals from the AL are: Robert Perez (Mariners), Edouard Julien (Twins), Stephen Scott (Red Sox) and Heston Kjerstad (Orioles).
