With the 2025 Major League Baseball season getting into full swing this week, BA staffers took a stab at predicting how the campaign will turn out.

Below, you’ll find our predicted order of finish in the American League, as well as who we believe the major AL award winners will be this season.

AL East

AL Central

1. Detroit Tigers

AL Wild Card Picks

1. New York Yankees

AL Pennant: Unlike in the NL, where the Dodgers are the clear favorite, the AL is more wide open. The Rangers and Red Sox led the way among BA staffers with three picks each. The Orioles (two selections) and Guardians (one) were the others.
