2023 Panama World Baseball Classic Roster

Panama has managed to put together a roster with a healthy smatter of major leaguers and top prospects for the 2023 World Baseball Classic. 

Angels righthander Jaime Barria, Rays catcher Christian Bethancourt and former Mets infielder Ruben Tejada headline Panama’s roster announced Thursday. They are joined by Brewers righthander Javy Guerra, Rockies righthander Justin Lawrence and Nationals righthander Paolo Espino, among other major leaguers, as well as a group of prospects led by Cardinals catcher Ivan Herrera and Dodgers outfielder Jose Ramos.

The team will be managed by Luis Ortiz, a former Braves scout and minor league manager who was a coach for Panama in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
