2018 MLB Mock Draft 6.0: Casey Mize Still No. 1 Amid Uncertainty

Just a few hours before the draft, there’s precious little clarity in how the first round is going to shape up. We will keep working the phones and may have an additional update closer to the 7 p.m. start of the draft.

1. Tigers: Casey Mize, RHP, Auburn.
The current draft slotting system encourages teams (and players) to negotiate til the last minute. And by all accounts, the negotiations are still taking place, as rumors persist that the Tigers are looking into options not named Casey Mize, most prominently including Georgia Tech catcher Joey Bart. We’re under the impression that Mize is still the most likely No. 1 pick, however.
