As of this past weekend, the entirety of full-season minor league teams are now underway for 2025. Here are our rankings for the 10 most talented of those MiLBN teams are the onset of the new season.

1. Iowa Cubs (Cubs Triple-A)

  • Top 100 Prospects: 4
  • Top 30 Prospects: 8
  • Notable Names: RHP Cade Horton, C Moises Ballesteros, OF Owen Caissie, OF Kevin Alcantara, INF James Triantos

No team has more Top 100 Prospects on one roster than the Iowa Cubs. When RHP Cade Horton is on the mound (No. 53 on the Top 100), Iowa can have four Top 100 Prospects in one lineup, with a stacked outfield that includes Owen Caissie (No. 62) and Kevin Alcantara (No. 68) and Moises Ballesteros (No. 59) behind the plate. While the infield doesn’t have any Top 100 Prospects, James Triantos (No. 6 on the Top 30), Jonathan Long (No. 11) and Ben Cowles (No. 14) are one of the more talented infield groups in Triple-A.

2. Charlotte Knights (White Sox Triple-A)

  • Top 100 Prospects: 3
  • Top 30 Prospects: 8
  • Notable Names: SS Colson Montgomery, C Kyle Teel, C Edgar Quero, INF Chase Meidroth, RHP Jairo Iriarte, RHP Nick Nastrini, RHP Eric Adler, RHP Owen White

The White Sox’s big league rotation has been better than expected to start 2025, but when it comes to intriguing talent, the organization’s Triple-A and Double-A teams may remain more fascinating. Shortstop Colson Montgomery (No. 72) is looking to bounce back after a rough 2024 season—and even rougher start to 2025—but he remains one of the younger position players in the league. Chase Meidroth (No. 8 on Top 30) gives the team another well-rounded infielder. The White Sox have the best pair of catching prospects on any MiLB team with Kyle Teel (No. 51 on Top 100) and Edgar Quero (No. 100). The pitching is stronger on the White Sox’s Double-A team, but RHPs Jairo Iriarte (No. 9), Nick Nastrini (No. 14), Eric Adler (No. 21) give the team a chance to tame Charlotte’s hitter-friendly ballpark.

3. Everett AquaSox (Mariners High-A)

  • Top 100 Prospects: 3
  • Top 30 Prospects: 6
  • Notable Names: SS Colt Emerson, SS/2B Michael Arroyo, OF Lazaro Montes, SHP Jurrangelo Cijntje, OF Tai Peete, C Josh Caron, RHP Marcelo Perez

Having a lineup that includes SS Colt Emerson (No. 15 on Top 100), 2B Michael Arroyo (No. 75) and outfielder Lazaro Montes (No. 95) gives the AquaSox one of the best middle-of-the-order bunches in the minors. Adding switch-pitcher and potential 2025 breakout candidate Jurrangelo Cijntje (No. 11 on the Top 30) just adds to the star power.

4. St. Paul Saints (Twins Triple-A)

  • Top 100 Prospects: 3
  • Top 30 Prospects: 9
  • Notable Names: OF Emmanuel Rodriguez, 2B/OF Luke Keaschall, RHPs Zebby Matthews, Marco Raya, Andrew Morris, Travis Adams

The Saints boast one of the best rotations in the minors, which was apparent on their first turn through this year. Saints starters are 2-1, 1.75 in six starts this year with just one home run allowed in 25.2 innings. RHP David Festa has graduated from Top 100 Prospect status, but he’s part of this rotation, as are RHPs Zebby Matthews (No. 70 on the Top 100), Marco Raya (No. 7 on Twins Top 30) and Andrew Morris (No. 10). The bullpen includes Cory Lewis (No. 20) and Travis Adams (No. 22). The lineup should be excellent, as well, thanks too Top 100 Prospects Emmanuel Rodriguez (No. 19 on the Top 100) and Luke Keaschall (No. 45). The catchers are a pair of talented prospects in Diego Cartaya (No. 21) and (No. 23). The team should get a further boost when infielder Payton Eeles comes off the injured list.

5. Oklahoma City Comets (Dodgers Triple-A)

  • Top 100 Prospects: 2
  • Top 30 Prospects: 4
  • Notable Names: C Dalton Rushing, SS Alex Freeland, LHP Justin Wrobleski, RHP Nick Frasso

This may seem too high of a ranking for a team with only two Top 100 Prospects. C Dalton Rushing (No. 29 on the Top 100) and SS Alex Freeland (No. 46) are some of the best close-to-the-majors position prospects in the game, but it’s the team’s absurd pitching depth that puts it this high. LHP Justin Wrobleski (No. 9 on the Top 30) and RHP Nick Frasso (No. 17) are joined in the rotation by RHPs Bobby Miller, Tony Gonsolin and Evan Phillips, all of whom have enough MLB time to have graduated from prospect status and boast plenty of big league success as starters. The lineup also includes 2B Hyeseong Kim (whose KBO tenure makes him ineligible for prospect status), OF James Outman (third in National League Rookie of the Year voting in 2023), OF Esturey Ruiz (a recent pickup from the A’s) and catcher Hunter Feduccia (who has moved up and down from the big leagues as needed).

6. Birmingham Barons (White Sox Double-A)

  • Top 100 Prospects: 2
  • Top 30 Prospects: 6
  • Notable Names: LHP Noah Schultz, LHP Hagen Smith, RHP Grant Taylor, RHP Wikelman Gonzalez, RHP Peyton Pallette, SS Jacob Gonzalez, 2B William Bergolla

If the White Sox’s Triple-A club has a lineup to watch, their Double-A Birmingham club has the pitching to envy.  A rotation of LHP Noah Schultz (No. 9 on Top 100), LHP Hagen Smith (No. 39) and RHP Grant Taylor (No. 18 on the Top 30 and soon to rise) is one of the most talented and hardest-throwing in the minors. RHP Peyton Pallette (No. 22) and RHP Wikelman Gonzalez (No. 20) are also worth keeping an eye on. The lineup doesn’t match the pitching staff’s star power, but the infield of Jacob Gonzalez (No. 16) and William Bergolla Jr. (No. 30) is solid.

7. Las Vegas Aviators (Athletics Triple-A)

  • Top 100 Prospects: 2
  • Top 30 Prospects: 11
  • Notable Names: 1B Nick Kurtz, OF Colby Thomas, RHP Mason Barnett, OF Denzel Clarke, RHP J.T. Ginn, 3B Darell Hernaiz, RHP Gunnar Hoglund, C Daniel Susac, RHP Grant Holman, 3B Brett Harris, RHP Ryan Cusick

The Athletics’ farm system is in the best shape it’s been in a while, and the Aviators are one of the beneficiaries. The combination of 1B Nick Kurtz (No. 33 on Top 100), one of the best hitters in the minors, and Las Vegas, one of the best hitters’ parks, is a perfect pairing. Kurtz enters this week’s game as the MiLB leader with four home runs. OFs Colby Thomas (No. 83 on Top 100) and Denzel Clarke (No. 8 on Top 30) give the team a dynamic outfield, while infielders Darell Hernaiz (No. 13) and Brett Harris (No. 22) and C Daniel Susac (No. 17) balance out the lineup. The pitching staff is about as well-manned as possible to handle a difficult park. RHP Mason Barnett (No. 6), RHP J.T. Gunn (No. 11), RHP Gunnar Hoglund (No. 16) front a deep rotation, while RHP Grant Holman (No. 19) and RHP Ryan Cusick (No. 26) are useful relievers.

8. Tacoma Rainiers (Mariners Triple-A)

  • Top 100 Prospects: 2
  • Top 30 Prospects: 6
  • Notable Names: SS Cole Young, C/OF Harry Ford, 1B Tyler Locklear, RHP Logan Evans, 3B Ben Williamson, RHP Blas Castano

The amount of talent at the Triple-A level to start this season is notable. Our Top 100 Prospects lists will naturally edge a bit towards more experienced prospects, as players who combine tools and MiLB production top those who are projectable but have yet to face the tests of High-A and Double-A. But even with that, having six of the top eight teams on this list hail from Triple-A is notable. Shortstop Cole Young (No. 54 on Top 100) and C/OF Harry Ford (No. 93) are joined by a number of well-rounded prospects including RHP Logan Evans (No. 8 on the top 30), 1B Tyler Locklear (No. 10) and 3B Ben Williamson (No. 14).

9. Rocket City Trash Pandas (Angels Double-A)

  • Top 100 Prospects: 1
  • Top 30 Prospects: 10
  • Notable Names: 2B Christian Moore, LHP Samuel Aldegheri, RHP George Klassen, OF Nelson Rada, SS Denzer Guzman, RHP Walbert Urena, RHP Rysan Costeiu, RHP Joel Hurtado, RHP Camden Minacci, 3B Cole Fontenelle

Year in and year out, Rocket City tends to have the best concentration of Angels’ prospects. This year is no exception. While Christian Moore (No. 76 on Top 100) is the only Top 100 Prospect, five of the team’s Top 10 Prospects are in Rocket City, including LHP Samuel Aldegheri (No. 3), RHP George Klassen (No. 4), OF Nelson Rada (No. 5) and SS Denzer Guzman (No. 8). Rada is still the youngest player in the Southern League, even as he returns there for a second season.

10. Worcester Red Sox (Red Sox Triple-A)

  • Top 100 Prospects: 2
  • Top 30 Prospects: 3
  • Notable Names: OF Roman Anthony, SS Marcelo Mayer, RHP Luis Guerrero

This is a debatable ranking, as there are numerous MiLB teams with more well-rounded rosters than Worcester. Most of the teams on the top 10 have a plethora of Top 30 Prospects. Worcester has three. But it also has the best prospect in the minors in OF Roman Anthony (No. 2 on Top 100) and SS Marcelo Mayer (No. 12). No other team has a pair of top 15 prospects in the game on one roster.
