10 Mets Prospects To Know Beyond The Top 30 in 2025

Baseball America’s Top 30 New York Mets Prospects entering 2025 are here exclusively for subscribers. The list includes updated scouting reports, BA grades and tool grade projections every player.
Inevitably, there are players every year who barely miss the cut when we narrow down the list. These players are all worth monitoring for various reasons and it’s likely some will either reach the big leagues in 2025 or enjoy breakout seasons lower in the minors.
Here are next 10 players to know in the Mets system beyond their Top 30. You can find the complete index of players who just missed their teams’ respective lists here.
31. Ronald Hernandez, C. Hernandez is a young, switch-hitting catcher and tireless worker who profiles as a potential big league backup. He uses a sound swing from both sides of the plate, emphasizing line-drive contact rather than pull-side power. His arm strength, transfers and throwing accuracy need to improve after he threw out just 15% of basestealers in 2024, mostly at Low-A St. Lucie.
32. Dedniel Nuñez, RHP. Nuñez turns 29 this season after making his MLB debut in 2024. He originally signed in October 2016, was a Rule 5 draft selection in 2020 and had Tommy John surgery that wiped out 2021. But when healthy, Nuñez has significant MLB reliever value with an outstanding four-seam fastball/slider combination.
33. Jack Wenninger, RHP. Wenninger is a changeup-forward righthander drafted in the sixth round in 2023 out of Illinois. He shows five pitch types and threw just enough strikes to set up his changeup versus Class A competition. He profiles more as a major league reliever or swingman who generates chases against his changeup.
34. Alex Ramirez, OF. Ramirez continued to play a strong center field at Double-A Binghamton while stealing a career high 40 bases. But his offensive production continued to stagnate, and he was non-tendered after the season before re-signing with the Mets on a minor league deal. Ramirez needs to find a way to alter his swing to make more impact to take the next step.
35. Felipe De La Cruz, LHP. In a system devoid of lefthanded starters, De La Cruz stands out. The 23-year-old struck out 116 batters in 106 innings for High-A Brooklyn last season, relying on a solid fastball/slider combo. With greater consistency of his breaking pitch, he could develop into a lefty reliever.
36. Ryan Lambert, RHP. Drafted out of Oklahoma in the eighth round in 2024, Lambert tops out at 100 mph and throws a good slider. If he can harness his control, he could move quickly to the MLB bullpen.
37. Ethan Lanthier, RHP. The former Kansas righthander missed bats in the Jayhawks’ bullpen. Drafted in the 12th round in 2024, he sat near 96 mph and topped out near 99 in a brief pro debut. His mid-80s slider and low-90s cutter have swing-and-miss potential.
38. Edward Lantigua, OF. The Mets made Lantigua one of their top targets in the 2024 international signing class. The Dominican outfielder hit .263/.397/.395 with one home run as a 17-year-old in the Dominican Summer League in his pro debut. Lantigua has solid bat-to-ball skills and might be able to hold down center field.
39. Branny De Oleo, SS. De Oleo had a nice 2023 season in the Dominican Summer League, but 2024 was a lost season in the Florida Complex League. The 19-year-old Dominican spent the offseason working on getting stronger and working on integrating his lower half into his swing.
40. Luis Moreno, RHP. A durable innings-eater who worked his way to Triple-A in each of the past two seasons, Moreno is a groundball-oriented pitcher with a sinker/slider mix. He turns 26 this season and has rotation depth upside.
