Mooney has been a key part of Maryland baseball's rise as a program. He's been a closer and a swing man for the Terrapins, and has outstanding raw stuff. His fastball works mostly at 88-91 mph, though he can touch 93 at times. Mooney's best pitch is his curveball, which breaks extremely late with 12-to-6 shape, and projects as an above-average pitch, though it sometimes flashes plus.
