Armstrong is an excellent athlete, having also played football and hockey. He is a physical specimen at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds with thick, strong legs. Weather has wreaked havoc this spring across the country, and it has proven to be especially challenging for Northeast scouts. Armstrong has been inconsistent this spring, pitching with below-average stuff at times, but he has tremendous upside. When he's right, he sits 88-92 mph and touches higher. His changeup is a work in progress, and he shows feel for a curveball that is better when he throws it harder. Northeast arms have a history of blossoming late, so a team might take a chance on Armstrong in the eighth to 10th round, but it's more likely that he winds up at Pittsburgh and gets closer looks in 2016.
