Milwaukee Brewers Top 30

By Tom Haudricourt

Plenty of organizations would likely switch places with the Brewers, a club averaging 90 wins over the last three seasons, including pushing the Dodgers to Game 7 of the NLCS in 2018, and home to one of the most recognizable stars in baseball in Christian Yelich.

But Milwaukee's offseason is certainly shrouded in mystery as those in baseball wonder how Milwaukee will push forward facing several key questions and departures.

Mike Moustakas and Yasmani Grandal departed in free agency. Travis Shaw (non-tendered) will get a fresh start elsewhere. Josh Hader and Lorenzo Cain's names have been bandied in trade rumors, and the Brewers already made one deal, bringing back Luis Urias, a top-40 prospect a year ago.

Milwaukee still has holes to fill in both its rotation and infield. The natural question -- will help be coming from within?

The Brewers system ended 2019 ranked as the worst in the game, hurt by a mix of prospect graduations and win-now trades. Because of that, impact near-ready talent at the top of the system is few and far between.
