By Josh Norris

A homegrown frontline starter has mostly eluded the Cubs under Theo Epstein.

Soon, though, they hope that finally changes.

Lefty Brailyn Marquez headlines Chicago's system, which ended 2019 ranked among the worst in baseball. Hampered by a mix of trades, injuries and lesser first round draft picks, the system is short on the impact near-ready talent many came to expect from Chicago in the early part of the decade. But there are still several intriguing names, notably outfielder Brennen Davis.
