Morrison has a good profile as a lefthanded-hitting college middle infielder who can defend and run. He's pushed touted freshmen Nick Madrigal and Cadyn Grenier to other positions as he retained Oregon State's shortstop job, his third as a starter, interrupted only a broken left pinky finger in 2015. He has above-average range if not better at short with enough arm strength for the left side and plus speed that could play in center field. Offensively, Morrison has yet to take a step forward and strikes out a lot considering his lack of power. His swing is sound but he lacks present strength in his 6-foot, 182-pound frame. He may wind up in a utility role.
