Choruby is the kind of speedy lefthanded hitting center fielder who finds a way to be a productive gamer. Choruby arrived at Texas A&M as an undersized shortstop and as such he didn't really play as a freshman and worked only as a pinch runner as a sophomore. But after a move to center field, where he's better able to use his plus speed, Choruby has become a reliable table-setter for the Aggies. He has been slowed some by a hip flexor injury that has tamed his aggressiveness on the bases this year. He's a solid defender in center, although like many speedy center fielders he has a well below-average arm. At the plate, Choruby knows his limitations. He has a funky swing, but it works as he sprays the ball and draws walks to get on base. His once completely non-existent power has improved as he's gained 35 pounds since arriving at Texas A&M. He still has bottom-of-the-scale power, but now he can sting line drive doubles and triples instead of relying entirely on poking singles through the infield.
