A key member of Oregon State's recruiting class, Watson was one of a clutch of Pacific Northwest prep talents who were getting crosschecked. He was expected to go to college, but he has some interesting tools, including above-average speed (6.7 seconds over 60 yards). He's athletic with some fast-twitch to his actions but he lacks present strength and physicality. Watson may run better with added physical development. He's pull-oriented offensively though he has bat-to-ball skills and a sound swing.
