Division II's strikeout leader (165 strikeouts, 15.9 strikeouts per nine innings) is lucky to be alive. Kasowski survived a frightening car accident as a junior at Houston. Amazingly he was back on the mound just a couple of months later, but an undiscovered gallbladder injury wrecked his 2016 season and eventually required surgery. Healthy again that summer, he went to the Northwoods League and dominated, winning the league's pitcher of the year award. He then transferred to Division II West Texas and quickly became the team's ace. His 92-95 mph fastball has gained a tick as he's regained his strength and his dedication to the weight room post-injury has paid off in increased stamina and arm speed. His curveball is an average offering but he shows feel for locating it. Kasowski's delivery is somewhat self-taught. It's not pretty but it does an excellent job of hiding the ball until late in his delivery making his already firm fastball play up even more.
