Campbell is a plus-plus runner who hits from both sides, but is better in the box as a lefthanded hitter, showing good feel to hit and above-average raw power. Although he's improved his arm strength to grade out as average, there is a chance he will have to move from shortstop in the future because of a stiff throwing motion. If he isn't able to throw from multiple angles, third base could be a fit, as he should have the raw arm strength to make it work at the hot corner. However if he's pushed from the dirt completely, his speed and athleticism should allow him to develop into a center fielder. He's performed well at the plate in front of scouts this spring--somewhat of a rarity in this class--and has a track record that dates back to his freshman year at Cardinal Gibbons, which might make teams more comfortable than with a player like Greg Jones, another North Carolina prep prospect who profiles similarly but is older and has been scouted less often.
