Tyler Lancaster

With Kep Brown enrolling at Spartanburg Methodist this year, scouts took many looks at the team, and Lancaster made a solid impression behind the plate. He has a built-to-last 6-foot-3, 215-pound body and pull power in his lefthanded swing. He's not the most nimble receiver but catches the ball and blocks well. Lancaster will need to continue improving his timing at the plate; his swing plane is geared for loft, but can result in topspin when he's caught out front of pitches. Lancaster had a knee injury as a freshman; it did not require surgery but should be something to monitor going forward. Lancaster is committed to play at Clemson next year, if he chooses not to sign professionally this year.
