Jordan Ramsey

After a strong sophomore campaign, Ramsey looked poised to develop into a top 10 rounds pick as a junior. Ramsey struggled as a junior, battling minor injuries and inconsistency, and he slipped in the draft as a result. The Yankees took a shot at him in the 34th round, but Ramsey opted to return to UNC Wilmington, where he was installed as the Seahawks' closer for his senior season. In the relief role, Ramsey has blossomed. He's regained his confidence and found big velocity. Ramsey has touched 97 mph consistently this spring, and works in the mid-90s. When he's on, he has an above-average slider and he commands both of his pitches in the strike zone. At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Ramsey has the size, stuff, and pitchability to move quickly through the minors into a major league bullpen.
