Mason Pelio

Pelio entered 2021 viewed as a potential day one pick. Unfortunately for him, he went from being Boston College's Friday starter at the start of the season to a mid-week role by the end of the year. His draft status plummeted, and it took an even bigger hit in 2022. After going 3-8, 6.65 in 2021, Pelio went 1-3, 9.16 with 27 hits allowed in 18.2 innings in 2022 with 20 walks and 21 strikeouts. Pelio has a big fastball that sits at 94-96 mph and touches 97-98, but his bottom of the scale control means he gets behind in the count way too often. He's a reclamation project for a team who can help him sort out of control problems.
