Mark emerged this spring as one of the top NAIA prospects after two nondescript seasons at Division II Cal State Dominguez Hills (2-4, 5.68), the second one as a starter. He transferred to Concordia and authored a terrific season as a power-armed closer, with his 24 saves leading NAIA by 10 over his next-closest competitor. He went 5-1, 1.24 with 70 strikeouts in 51 innings. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Mark has a good body and has improved his strike-throwing considerably, walking just nine batters and pounding the zone with a 92-95 mph fastball. He doesn't have a feel for changing speeds, though, as his secondary pitches include a cutter and split-finger fastball, all of them thrown hard.
