Originally a two-way player at South Alabama, Billingsley's pitching career ended when he had Tommy John surgery before his sophomore season. He returned to the field in 2015, and has been a mainstay at the top of the Jaguars' lineup and in center field ever since. Billingsley's game is built around his above-average speed. He has stolen at least 30 bases in back-to-back years, and does a good job of hitting the ball into the ground and allowing his speed to play. He has well below-average power. Billingsley's speed also helps him in the outfield, where he covers ground easily in center field. He has a strong arm and will be able to handle any outfield position. Thanks to his defense and speed, Billingsley profiles well as a fourth outfielder, but with some more offensive improvement, he could develop into something more.
