Zimmerman spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Towson, but transferred to Mount Olive as a junior. He excelled with the Trojans, and put up outstanding numbers as a senior in 2017. Zimmerman struck out 129 batters and walked just 24 in 99 innings. Scouts saw his fastball anywhere from 87 to 93 mph, resting mostly at 88-91. He has a clean, easy delivery and a sturdy pitcher's body at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds. Zimmerman could be a good senior sign inside the top 10 rounds.
