Johnstone took a big step forward in 2017 thanks to adding some fastball velocity and adding a cutter to his reportoire. After striking out around 3.5 batters per nine during his sophomore and junior seasons, that number jumped to 6.42 this season after he fanned 63 batters in 88.1 innings prior to the Super Regional.
