Artie Lewicki

A team captain for Virginia, Lewicki was authoring a strong finish to a challenging career that included Tommy John surgery that cost him the 2013 season. Lewicki battled an oblique strain this spring but returned healthy and pushed his way into the weekend rotation down the stretch, though he lost a start at the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament. Lewicki's rehabilitation from his injuries helped him firm up a strong 6-foot-3, 212-pound frame, and his fastball velocity has increased. He has hit 95 mph with his fastball and sits in the 90-93 range, holding his velocity for most of his starts.
