Blake Weiman came into Kansas as a tall (6-foot-5) but skinny (175 pounds) lefty. He enters this year's draft as a significantly stronger 210 pounder. As one might expect, his stuff has improved along with his size as the once 86-88 mph fastball now sits 88-92 mph. Weiman has a clean and easy delivery and an improved slider and he dots the strike zone with advanced control. Weiman usually ran out of gas when his pitch count ran up, which is why Kansas moved him to the bullpen. His control and delivery indicate that he has starter traits, but his stamina and success may keep him in a bullpen.
