A 37th-round pick of the Orioles out of high school, Pries steadily improved each year at UCLA. The 6-foot-4 Pries is an adept fastball hitter with above-average pull-side power. He’s patient with a good eye. He hit .289/.399/.518 with nine home runs during the regular season. Pries plays a mature game, but he lacks tools beyond his power and is limited defensively to left field. He’ll be drafted as a senior sign.
