Brendan Murphy

Murphy has been the star of Mundelien (Ill.) High's team for three years now, not only as a pitcher but also as a hitter. His future is on the mound as a projectable lefty with a good delivery and solid stuff. Murphy doesn''t blow away hitters but his combination of a solid-average fastball (88-92 mph), potentially plus changeup and sweepy breaking ball gives him the makings of a three-pitch mix. He needs to further tighten and develop his breaking ball, but his fastball-changeup combination is advanced already and his smooth delivery allows him to show advanced control and command for his age.
