Scholtens started his college career at Arizona before heading to junior college and then Wright State, where he's been the ace for two seasons. Scholtens fills the zone with an 88-92 mph fastball (he'll touch 93 in most starts) and mixes in an average cutter. He also throws a fringy changeup, but in pro ball he'll likely move to the bullpen and largely focus on the fastball and cutter. He's a senior sign with a good track record, including a perfect game in March.
