Lopez is a talented two-way player with a 6-foot, 200-pound frame and power both on the mound and as a righthanded hitter. After pitching in the upper 80s in 2022, Lopez made a big jump in velocity in 2023 when he got his fastball into the 91-95 mph range consistently. He has tremendous arm strength and has turned in triple-digit throws from the outfield. In addition to a fastball that now sits in the low 90s, Lopez will mix in a curveball in the upper 70s, a slider in the low 80s and a low-to-mid 80s changeup. As a hitter Lopez has lots of moving parts in his swing that could create timing issues and contact questions, but his bat speed and power keep him intriguing offensively even if teams might prefer his upside on the mound. Lopez is committed to Ole Miss.
