School:UC Santa Barbara Age At Draft: 21.1
Drafted: Never Drafted
Last spring, Flora pitched primarily in relief but made a few starts en route to a solid season in which he had a 3.83 ERA with 40 strikeouts across 47 innings. Flora has seen an uptick across the board since last spring, and had a 3.60 ERA with an impressive strikeout-to-walk ratio of 86-to-17 through 75 innings. At 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds, Flora has a long, lean frame with room to add strength. There’s some effort in Flora’s delivery that’s accompanied by a head whack, but he has a whippy arm stroke and no shortage of arm speed. He relies heavily on his lethal fastball-slider combination, and the two made up for 94% of the pitches he threw this spring. Flora’s fastball sits in the mid-to-upper 90s, but it’s been up to 100 mph. It explodes out of his hand and flashes ample life through the zone, and it plays especially well in the top-third thanks to its riding life. He’s also shown the ability to run it in on the hands of righthanded hitters. Flora’s sweeper flashes plus with late, lateral bite, but he has enough feel for the pitch where he’s able to manipulate its shape and back-foot it to lefthanded hitters. His changeup is an “under construction” third offering, and he’s currently working on a kick change. Flora has plus feel for both his fastball and slider and has advanced command. -
School: UC Santa Barbara Committed/Drafted: Never Drafted. Age At Draft: 21.1
Flora pitched as a reliever during his freshman season with UC Santa Barbara, but in 2025, he moved into the starting rotation to form an electric 1-2 punch with Tyler Bremner, whom the Angels picked second overall in the draft. Flora has a chance to give UCSB its second-straight first-round pitcher in 2026. Commit/Drafted: Loyola Marymount
Age At Draft: 18.1
Flora’s fastball sat in the upper 80s on the high school showcase circuit last summer, but he got stronger in the offseason and emerged this spring as one of the more intriguing draft prospects in Northern California. Flora is a projectable 6-foot-4, 185-pound righthander with a clean delivery and stuff that keeps ticking up. His fastball ranges from 88-94 mph with excellent finish and extension out of his delivery and has room to keep increasing as he gets stronger. He shows good feel to spin an upper-70s slider that should be at least an average pitch as he adds power to it, and he also has a mid-70s, top-down curveball that shows promise. His nascent changeup is fringy but usable and has a chance to improve the more he throws it. Flora fills up the strike zone and repeats his delivery with ease. He has at least above-average control and could grow into more as he gains strength. Flora is a long-term project who will require patience in player development, but all the ingredients are there for him to remain a starter. He is committed to Loyola Marymount.
