Hoffman was a late riser after a strong performance at the Florida High School All-Star Classic in late May. He's a two-way prospect but scouts came away impressed with his stuff and physicality on the mound. Hoffman has a beautifully compact, efficient arm action. He's well-built at 6-foot-3 and roughly 200 pounds. Hoffman's fastball works in the low 90s and has hit as high as 94 mph. His offspeed stuff is raw and he'll need to learn to stretch himself out to develop into a starter. He's committed to South Florida, and could be the next draft prospect to take huge steps forward under head coach Mark Kingston.
