Blake Allemand
Name: Blake Austin Allemand
Born: Jul 1, 1992 in San Antonio, Texas USA
College: Texas A&M
Ht.: 5'10" / Wt.: 175 lbs
Bats: B / Throws: R
Drafted in the 5th round (151st overall) by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2015 (signed for $40,000)
A four-year starter, Allemand hit one home run in his first three years at Texas A&M. He was more noted for his above-average speed and defensive reliability, but as a senior, the switch-hitter has suddenly untapped some gap power, producing a surprising 22 extra-base hits including seven home runs heading into the NCAA regionals. Most notably, he hit a pair of home runs off of likely first-round pick Carson Fulmer during the Southeastern Conference tournament. Allemand will never be a power hitter, but the 5-foot-9, 175-pound senior's improved strength makes him more draftable as a versatile middle infielder who is stretched at shortstop because of his arm strength, but he projects as at least a solid-average second baseman defensively with the ability to draw a walk.
