Hellinger got a late start to the season due to a shoulder injury, but pitched well once he got on the mound for Ola High. He typically throws his fastball in the upper 80s and can reach 93 mph. There's plenty of room for projection in his 6-foot-3, 170-pound frame, and he should add more velocity as he physically matures. He needs to tighten his curveball, but both it and his changeup have the potential to develop into average offerings. He is very athletic and has a loose, easy arm action that makes it easy for him to throw strikes with his fastball. Hellinger is committed to Kennesaw State.
