Ankeney spent three seasons at Grand Canyon before transferring to Loyola Marymount for his redshirt junior campaign in 2025. With a 6-foot-4, 235-pound frame, Ankeney has plenty of physicality and raw power, and it manifested this spring to the tune of a career-best 22 homers and a 1.164 OPS in the West Coast Conference. He boasts impressive top end exit velocities and in-game home runs that mostly go to the pull side. He’s an aggressive hitter who expands the zone a bit too frequently and needs to clean up his misses against secondaries. Ankeney moves reasonably well for his size—potentially enough to play the outfield—but is a definite corner profile who’s most likely to land at first base. Ankeney has compelling underlying data and a power foundation to build upon for a team in the later round of the draft.
