Cannizzaro is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound outfielder who spent four seasons with Bucknell before transferring to Virginia Tech where he has continued to hit for high average in the ACC. He hit well over .300 in both seasons and this spring slashed .346/.414/.626 with 12 home runs, 12 doubles and near as many walks (18) as strikeouts (24).
